The Impact Startup Lab pilot was a huge success for the Africa Technology Business Network (ATBN).
ATBN helps young women in Africa develop entrepreneurship skills. Enabling them to setup businesses and support their families. This initiative is starting to get attention from the press. As well as interest from the corporate world, including the mighty Google.
BluPoint technology has helped ATBN extend the reach and quality of their educational materials. After the positive outcome of the pilot in Ghana, there are now plans to expand to 6 Impact Startup Labs in emerging markets.
BluPoint’s offline internet platform is both robust and resilient. A complete end to end solution of cloud software (BluCloud) and local hubs (BluHubs). BluPoint overcomes barriers of no electricity and no connectivity. This affordable platform can share information to any device. And without data costs to the user, which is game changing technology in emerging markets.
The students were positive about the technology, and in particular the speed. The BluHub delivers content faster than 4G, pretty much unheard of in Ghana. BluPoint automagically adapts and optimises content for high speed and ease of consumption
BluPoint’s unique feature is that it can reach all users, no matter what device they use. Whatever the connection type, be it Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or FM radio, the BluHub delivers to one and all.
Another benefit of BluPoint is it’s support for low literacy. By converting web content (even text) into video & audio through patent pending technology.
Delivering only the content and services the users need. BluPoint helps keep students on track, and focused on the learning material.
Monitoring and Feedback
The BluHubs collected feedback from participants in Ghana. This gave ATBN useful metrics and data from which to steer future projects. Helping them develop and refine their content.
We are using BluPoint to make entrepreneurship skills readily available to young women in Africa. We are providing training through the BluPoint platform to enable them to setup businesses that create impact in their communities and support their families.
